Today, after much moping and brow beating after my unsuccessful try at Leadville last summer I stumbled across the posting for the inaugural Black Hills 100. So I have made it up my mind and I am going to run it. The nice thing is it is close to home.

Running at Night

There is nothing like running when the rest of the world is hugging their pillows. Last night I ran from 10PM until 2PM. I broke it up with running in my little 300 person town to running on my treadmill. The lightning bugs were everywhere and it was fun until the lightning and the rain came in. So the treadmill it was with A&E's Biography about Guns-N-Roses and the movie classic movie Slap Shot with Paul Newman. I finished it off with a nice root beer float. Maybe I will be ready for the Lean Horse 100 after all.

Greatest Inventions for Ultra Running

What are the greatest inventions for Ultra Running? The Buff (You know like from the show Survivor.), and Audio books for the I-pod. There is nothing better than a quality book for those long, lonely runs by yourself. But remember that listening to Stephen King at 2:00 AM will make you see things that are not always there.

Thinking about running
